Our very popular firefighter golf tournament was renamed to “The Peter MacDonald Firefighter Golf Classic” to honor it’s namesake, Peter MacDonald, and his unwavering dedication to this association and the fire service. Peter was a pillar of the PEI Firefighters Curling Association for a long time. He was also named as a Life Member of the Canadian Firefighters Curling Association for his contributions to the association over the years and he was presented this prestiguous award in January of 2025. Unfortunately, Peter passed away shortly after in February of 2025, but his contributions and legacy will be felt for years to come. The association named the golf tournament after him as a symbol of his work and dedication to not only the annual golf tournament, but the annual curling bonspiel. Both events bring firefighters together from all over our little island for a day of fun and relaxtion. This year’s golf tournament will be held on September 26, 2026 at the Fox Meadow Golf Course where we all know our “Ol’ Buddy” will be laughing and shaking his head at us from above!
